Ittihad opened their account in the ninth minute through Ahmad Asiri.
Muhammad Nur got the second goal for Ittihad in the 23rd minute. Emad Hantool reduced the margin for Taawon in the 27th minute. Abdulmalik Ziaya put Ittihad further ahead in the 38th minute to take a 2-1 lead at the breather.
Badr Khamis reduced the gap when he scored the second goal for Taawon in the 54th minute. Salahuddin Aqqal leveled the score in the 74th minute. Till then the visitors looked to have the measure of Ittihad. But, Wendel Geraldo’s goal for Ittihad in the 77th minute put the Jeddah outfit in the driver’s seat and Fahd Al-Onaizi made the issue safe for the winners in the 86th minute.
In other matches, Al-Ittifaq defeated Al-Qadasiya 1-0 and Al-Fateh and Najran drew 2-2 in Al-Ahsa.
On Saturday, action will continue with four matches. In the first match, Al-Nasr will host Al-Raid in Riyadh, while Al-Ansar of Madinah take on Al-Ahli in Madinah. Hajr will meet Al-Hilal in Ahsa and Alfaisaly will play Al-Shabab.
