France rested star guard Tony Parker and center Joakim Noah and Spain spread the minutes among all 12 players since both teams were already through to the quarterfinals. It was France’s first loss of the tournament.
Guard Juan Carlos Navarro hit all four of his 3-point attempts and finished with 16 points, while Rudy Fernandez had 15 for Spain. Center Kevin Seraphin led France with 18.
Spain broke open the game with a 27-4 run in the third quarter.
