The joint venture company, Sanjel International Saudi Arabia Ltd. (SISAL) will bring several new services to TAQA's capabilities in cementing, stimulation, coiled tubing, nitrogen, hydraulic fracturing and completion systems.
Abdulrahman M. Bin Zarah, president of TAQA, said: "Both companies are well-positioned in the Kingdom and the joint venture enhances the positions of both TAQA and Sanjel, allowing SISAL to grow rapidly and provide high quality oilfield services to Saudi Aramco's expanding operations." TAQA has strong roots in the Kingdom, the company's reach has consistently grown and the oil field service market has become increasingly important to us. Sanjel's heritage in North America is akin to that of TAQA in the Kingdom and we look forward to developing this relationship further in 2011 and beyond."
Darin MacDonald, CEO of Sanjel, said: "Expansion into growing international markets has been a key tenet of our company's long-term business strategy. Sanjel's joint venture with TAQA represents a unique opportunity for sustained growth in regions of the world that will sustain higher activity levels of oil and gas exploration and production. We believe our relationship with TAQA is a strategic move into the Kingdom."
