The projects, worth a total of SR851 million, include channeling water from dams in Leeth to Al-Shoaibah Phase-2 desalination plant at a cost of SR565 million to be completed in three years and a SR37.87 million sewage network in Al-Rass governorate in Qassim province to be completed within three and a half years.
Other schemes include construction of a water tank and distribution center at Wadi bin Hashbal in Khamis Mushyat governorate in Asir province at a cost of SR26 million to be completed within 18 months and a SR22 million sewage network project at Uhud Rafeeda (Third Phase) in Asir province within three years.
A contract worth SR20.6 million was awarded to an engineering consultancy company to supervise water and sewage projects in Sulail and Wadi Al-Dawassir governorates in the Riyadh province. A SR19.83 million sewage project in Mahayel governorate (Fifth Phase) in Asir province, a SR19.35 million contract to supervise water and sewage project works in Al-Kharj governorate in Riyadh province, a SR18.7 million drinking water network in Baljurshi governorate in Baha province and a SR15 million contract to supply water in trucks to Qassim province were awarded on Saturday.
The other contracts announced by the minister include a number of dams in Tabuk province at a cost of SR14.9 million, drinking water supply networks in Hadada in Najran province worth SR13.7 million, a supervisory contract involving a sewage treatment plant in Madinah at a cost of SR13.24 million, commissioning and maintenance of dams in Madinah province worth SR8.8 million and a project of sewage and treatment plant at Prince Muhammad bin Fahd Housing in Jazan at a cost of SR8.46 million.
