Football Federation Australia said Monday that its match review panel found Bridge “committed the offense of assault on a player — violent conduct when not challenging for the ball” — against Vargas at the 75-minute mark of the scoreless draw at Melbourne.
Bridge and Sydney FC decided Tuesday not to appeal the two-match ban. He’ll miss Sydney’s home opener Saturday against the defending champion Brisbane Roar and an Oct. 22 match in Adelaide.
