"The visit underlines the strong economic relations between Saudi Arabia and the Osnabrueck Chamber of Industry. "We are confident that the German and Saudi companies present at the forum will find reliable business partners for sustainable and prosperous cooperation," Andreas Hergenroether, delegate of German Industry and Commerce for Saudi Arabia and Yemen, told Arab News.
During the visit, the delegation also met with RCCI officials led by Deputy Secretary General Hamad S. Al-Humaidan.
Frank Hesse, director of public relations, economic policy, international economic affairs of Osnabrueck Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK), heads the delegation.
Hergenroether said that the visit was in support of Saudi demand for the transfer of technology and know-how in various fields such as security systems, food packaging, mining, heating, ventilation and cooling systems.
"While promoting the Saudi market among German companies, AHK Saudi Arabia wants to contribute to the Kingdom's demands for technology transfer. More than 700 companies have already chosen Saudi Arabia as a location for producing and developing their businesses," he said.
He expressed optimism that the visit will help further boost the bilateral trade between the two countries.
"Recent statistics show that the bilateral trade between Saudi Arabia and Germany is increasing significantly. Exports touched more than $4.8 billion in the first seven months of 2011, up 14 percent compared to the same period in 2010," he said.
On the other hand, German imports from the Kingdom also grew 7 percent during the first seven months of 2011.
Florian Mader, AHK Saudi Arabia head of public relations, expressed satisfaction over the enthusiastic meeting between the delegation and Saudi businessmen. "After the forum, the delegation visited a project of Buhler AG Saudi Arabia, a German company established in the Kingdom many years ago," he said. The delegation also visited the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
He added that the delegation will also visit the site for the King Abdullah Economic City and Jeddah Islamic Port. The delegation was also expected to meet Saudi businessmen in Jeddah on Sunday.
