He had confessed to blackmailing eight female employees in the education sector.
Known only by his initials of A.A., the employee lured the teachers by telling them that he could transfer them to higher administrative jobs at the department or make their teaching jobs permanent.
He confessed to the Prosecution and Investigations Commission (PIC) that he was able to obtain the photos of his victims this way and he then started making advances and asking them to come to his home. He also sent messages and pictures to them.
According to sources, the victims included teachers, administrators and job applicants. Police said dating messages and pictures were found in the blackmailer's three mobile phones.
The source said A.A. was sent to the general prison in Abha prior to his trial before a Shariah court.
According to the police, the blackmailer was trapped by the members of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice (Haia) after receiving information about his illicit behavior.
The police said one of the female victims had informed the Haia that the blackmailer had threatened to publish her photos if she refused to go out with him.
