The new building is one of the facilities extended to the Civil Defense to be able to deal with any emergency situation during the Haj season.
Al-Tuwaijri inspected the building, which includes 36 administrative offices, a meeting hall equipped with latest audio-visual devices, a restaurant and a mosque, each accommodating 2,000 people, and a rest hall with a capacity of 2,000 officers and privates.
Speaking after the opening ceremony, Al-Tuwaijri said the capabilities of the Civil Defense personnel were the cornerstone in their success in protecting the lives and properties of the citizens and in serving the guests of God.
He said the performance of the Civil Defense in dealing with the gas-leaking incidents in the Eastern Province was appreciated by American safety experts and commended by the governor of the province, Prince Muhammad bin Fahd.
Al-Tuwaijri said the facilities provided by the government to the Civil Defense and the accumulated experience of its staff were a sufficient factor to make everyone sure about the safety and security of the guests of God.
He said the government had provided the Civil Defense with the latest technological devices, including two trucks that were especially manufactured for Saudi Arabia to monitor the level of radiation and chemical pollution.
