China is biggest buyer of Saudi products

However, the report said the total volume of exports during
the month dropped 15 percent from 4.08 million to 3.45 million tons.
Petrochemicals accounted for 35 percent of the total exports
worth SR4.38 billion, followed by plastic products 34 percent (SR4.3 billion)
and re-exports 11 percent (SR1.3 billion).
During the month, the Kingdom exported foodstuffs worth
SR953 million and metal and metallic products valued at SR549 million.
“About 33 percent of Saudi nonoil exports valued at SR4.18
billion were received by non-Arab Asian countries,” the report said.
Gulf Cooperation Council countries came second among
importers of Saudi products as five GCC states imported goods worth SR2.4
billion during the month.
Arab countries came third importing Saudi products worth
SR2.2 billion (19 percent), followed by the European Union SR1.6 billion (17
percent) and non-Arab Islamic countries SR2.3 billion or 18 percent of the
total.
China was the largest single importer from Saudi Arabia in
August as it imported products worth SR1.58 billion, followed by the UAE SR1.2
billion, India SR845 million, Singapore SR752 million and Turkey SR491 million.
During August 2011, the Kingdom imported goods worth SR33.8
billion compared to SR34.76 billion in August 2010 while the total volume of
imported goods declined from 5.7 million to 3.7 million tons. Equipment and
electrical appliances topped the list of imports valuing SR8.9 billion or 26
percent of total imports.
