Prince Turki said the PME finished their preparation for Haj early to ensure the safety of pilgrims. All their efforts were mobilized to serve the pilgrim by providing detailed information to the responsible government authorities working in Haj.
In a press statement, Prince Turki said that PME is working round the clock through their observatory centers in Mina and Arafat in addition to their centers in Makkah. Information will be provided quickly and accurately to authorities dealing with weather.
He said that 40 automatic stations in addition to radars are focusing on Makkah atmosphere and satellite pictures are being used to monitor cloud movement over the holy sites. PME has also deployed mobile laboratories geared to measure the quality of air in holy sites and to monitor the level of air pollution.
The PME has also made all information available through its website and linked it with government departments working in Haj. It has also set up a hotline linked with the command center to deal with emergencies.
