"It's not the mental tension that is problematic but our negative response toward it," said Dr. Ashraf Ali, a cardiologist at the clinic.
Ali said a moderate stress was essential for any person to carry out his/her tasks and duties effectively and efficiently. He said stress could complicate ailments such as heart diseases, blood pressure and migraine.
"We can control stress by changing lifestyle, taking hygienic food, and doing exercise regularly," he said.
P.A. Abdul Rahman, general manager of Shifa Jeddah Polyclinic, opened the seminar, which was organized by the Jeddah Chapter of Chennamangallur Islahiya Association.
T.H. Darimi and K.A. Arif also spoke during the event, which was presided over by Ibrahim Chamnad, the association's president.
Ismail Pullankode welcomed the participants while Shamim Chennamangallur gave a vote of thanks.
