The company’s executive vice president Middle East, India, Russia and Africa Zone, Tony Mouawad, opened the office on Wednesday.
Saudi businessmen and company officials were also present.
Chief Executive Ahmad Chaouk, who is also acting as a BV spokesman, said the company had been providing its services to Saudi Arabia since 1999.
He said the Kingdom’s booming and stable market had encouraged them to open the new branch.
“We are proud that we have the world-class capability that gained us the confidence and trust of our partners in Saudi Arabia,” Chaouk said.
“Our bureau in Saudi Arabia is one of our 900 offices and 330 laboratories in 140 countries employing 48,000 people,” the BV official said, adding that BV is serving 400,000 customers across a wide range of end-markets, including major Saudi companies such as SABIC.
He said BV is a global leader in conformity assessment and certification services in the areas of quality, health care and safety, environment and corporate social responsibility (QHSE).
“We are proud to be part of the rapid development of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.”
He also said Bureau Veritas would continue to serve the Kingdom in a professional and competitive manner.
Highlighting the company’s QHSE compliance, the BV official said the company helps its clients to boost their performance by offering services and innovative solutions to ensure that their products, infrastructure facilities and production processes meet international standards and specifications.
“We have a competitive advantage because of our efficient international network, brand reputation, unmatched expertise, skilled employee base, broad service portfolio and a good track record,” he said.
The company also undertakes do inspection, testing, audit, certification, risk management, outsourcing and training services.
BV has offices in Jeddah and Dammam, manned by 150 skilled staff, including 52 Saudi nationals, said the company’s HR manager.
