The Chinese Television System said Wednesday that a news manager will resign following the over-the-top performance by news reader Liang Fang-yu.
Dressed in traditional Korean clothes and identifying herself by a Korean name, Liang reported on Taiwan’s presidential election campaign Monday, employing the grave tone of North Korean anchorwoman Ri Chun Hee.
The 68-year-old Ri, her country’s top anchor for three decades, announced Kim’s death earlier in the day, her voice at times seeming to choke with emotion.
CTS did not say what if any punishment Liang would face.
