The governorate’s Director of Studies and Public Relations Sultan Al-Dousary said the gathering, which was initiated by Gov. Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, was aimed at shedding light on the talents and energies of the youth through various competitions and activities that would enable them to participate in drawing the development plans which would serve the country and upgrade the involvement of citizens.
“The gathering is aimed at building and developing the area through the energies of the young men and women,” he added.
Al-Dousary said during the preparation phase, the organizational structure of the main executive and administrative committees was finalized. He said the committee would consist of all participating parties including the Ministry of Education, the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA), the municipalities, the chambers of commerce and industry and the universities.
“The male and female students will participate in the cultural, tourist and sport activities and competitions,” he explained.
Al-Dousary revealed that the chairman of the main executive committee, Abdul Aziz Al-Khodairy, the undersecretary of the governorate, held a series of meetings with the participating government departments to ensure the success of the youth meet.
Al-Dousary said the assembly would enable the youth from the various regions of the province to spend their leisure time doing useful things for themselves and their country through competitive activities.
“This is the first initiative of its kind for the youth in the Kingdom. It will create an inductive atmosphere for the young men and men to show their creative skills and to develop their talents,” he said.
