Informed sources from the ministry said Wednesday that the first phase of the strategic plan would be executed over four months starting from the month of January while the second phase would be executed over 12 months.
They said a guidance council and another executive one would be set up under minister Adel Fakieh to oversee the implementation of the plan with a view to ensuring the disabled with the best of services.
They explained that the two councils would comprise experts and specialists in disability in addition to a number of disabled men and women.
According to the sources, the ministry was currently revamping the existing labor rules and regulations that would help the disabled easily get jobs in the government and private sectors. They said the regulations would also ensure the rights of the employers to obtain the higest levels of productivity from disabled workers.
The sources said the new rules and regulations were aimed at creating useful partnerships between the public and private sectors and would be in line with government plans aimed at providing job opportunities for all Saudi citizens, particularly people with special needs.
Meanwhile Fakieh said the SR168 billion allotted in the new budget for education and training of human resources would boost employment opportunities. "The Saudi citizen has absolute priority in employment," he added.
The minister said as a result of the two programs of Nitaqat and Hafiz launched by the ministry, the Saudi labor market has been supplied with the required mechanisms to be reformed.
