Office supervisor Ibrahim Al-Nahyani said 226 of those complaints were dealt with by the commission, 165 referred to specialist institutes, while 54 are still being reviewed.
“Cases related to the right to work and safe working environments were top of the cases presented to the office,” Al-Nahyani revealed, adding the office dealt with 99 such incidents.
Cases involving detainees and prisoners’ rights accounted for the second highest number of cases, 69 in total.
Makkah office enjoys great support and cooperation from specialist bodies that help with certain cases, according to Al-Nahyani, adding his office works hard to enhance the level of cooperation with other bodies that do not show as much support.
The Makkah Office received 23 cases on the right to Saudi nationality, 32 cases concerning violence and abuse, 19 cases of domestic abuse, along with other cases covering the right to ownership, education, social and medical care.
