The Awards held at Durban attracted local and international talent, as talented chefs competed. Chef Said Hassanein, the senior chef at Raffles Makkah Palace was chosen among the final few to showcase his ultimate culinary magnificence gained through wide international expertise that helped him bag the winning title at the culinary competition.
On this momentous occasion, Chef Said said “I am glad to receive this award and I would like to thank my family at Raffles Makkah Palace for their endless support in the contest.” He also added, “Cooking is my passion and when it comes to ingredients and menus, I tend to blend together my international techniques with the local flavors to craft finest and most sumptuous meals.”  Said also believes in using fresh ingredients constantly, and identifying the taste for the guest’s needs.”
The food was tasted, marked and monitored by panel of well-known highly experienced international chefs. Said Hassanein qualified in numerous rounds to enter the finalists’ category that required showcasing talent based on creativity and competitive spirit.
