They said for reasons unknown to them the contractor constructing the two buildings left the projects unfinished after it withdrew all its equipment and workers from the sites about five years ago.
Local resident Abdullah Al-Niqaithan held the Ministry of Education responsible for not completing work on the two schools.
"The ministry has to work fast to find a solution to this problem so that our children do not miss out on their education opportunities," he said.
Ghazi Al-Mitairi, another resident, said the two buildings have become home to illegal foreigners, dogs and cats.
Citizens living near the two unfinished buildings expressed worry for their lives and urged the ministry to do something before it was too late.
