Kilpatrick and Dion Dixon each had four of Cincinnati's
13 steals as the Bearcats (13-4, 3-1 Big East) forced Georgetown into 17
turnovers, matching the Hoyas' season-high. Cincinnati has won eight of nine.
Hollis Thompson and Jason Clark scored 14 points apiece
and combined to go 11 for 13 from the field for the Hoyas (13-3, 3-2), whose 59
percent shooting was undone by carelessness with the ball. Georgetown has lost
two straight after an 11-game winning streak.
Cashmere Wright broke a 62-62 tie with two free throws
with 1:07 remaining- his only points of the game.
In Hartford,
Jeremy Lamb had 25 points and eight rebounds as Connecticut overcame a 10-point
second-half deficit to snap a two-game skid.
Andre Drummond added 20 points and 11 boards for UConn
(13-3, 3-2 Big East). Huskies coach Jim Calhoun was coaching his first home
game since serving a three-game suspension for NCAA recruiting violations.
Connecticut, which lost at Seton Hall and Rutgers last
week, dropped nine spots in the Top 25 earlier in the day.
Kevin Jones, the Big East's leading scorer and rebounder,
had 22 points for West Virginia (12-5, 3-2).
UConn trailed by 46-36 with just over 11 minutes left
before Lamb's dunk sparked a run. His jumper with 2 1/2 minutes left put the
Huskies up for good at 57-55.
