“This course is part of our plan to increase the English language level of Jazan University through activating the self-learning program,” said Barakat Al-Makrami, director of ELC at Jazan University.
Tell Me More is an online language teaching program, designed to teach languages such as English, Spanish, German, French, Italian and Dutch.
The program provides not only different tools and applications for teachers to track and follow-up on the students' progression. Tell Me More can also be personalized, to cater for specific needs of students.
Originally, Tell Me More was designed for self-study, allowing for a more individual based training.
The program provides a wide range of activities covering the four skills (writing, reading, speaking and listening). A student can personalize his training to work on the skills he really needs to catch up on.
Tell Me More can also be implemented in institutions such as universities where a student can work on the theoretical part, using Tell Me More, leaving more time during the face-to-face encounters.
“The greatest benefit is to guarantee a student full time access to his language course, teaching him an autonomic approach in language learning,” said Yvan Floret, senior trainer of the Tell Me More program.
The academic staff at Jazan University includes Saudis, British, Canadian, Pakistanis, Bangladeshis and Indians. They all participated actively during the sessions aimed at implementing and activating the online language program.
Hundreds of institutions are using the program around the globe. Besides Jazan University, Yanbu industrial College has decided to implement it in Saudi Arabia.
“I found the participants were very skilled and very interested. Their questions were accurate and I hope I have provided answers that were satisfactory to everyone,” Floret added.
