The project aims to provide voice and broadband Internet connectivity to the residents of the districts of Khulais and Al-Kamel in the Makkah Region, and the district of Mahd Al-Dhahab in the Madinah Region.
Mobily was the first telecom operator in the Kingdom to fully complete the entire comprehensive service fund project that is supervised by the Communications and Information technology Commission as part of its ninth development plan for the Kingdom. This yet another outstanding achievement which once again proves its superiority in quality and time management.
Mobily said 482 villages that belong to these provinces have been covered in a record time despite the region’s terrain nature, and 153 locations have been developed with advanced 3G technology while being connected to the switchboard via Mobily’s huge Optical Fibers’ Network.
Nasser Al-Nasser, Mobily’s CTO MRN, said the project was executed based on a time limit and a technical plan that is made up of several stages.
“Mobily was not threatened by the region’s terrestrial nature,” he said.
“On the contrary, workers on the project insisted they fully complete this project on time; and that is exactly what happened and we have god to thank for that.”
Al-Nasser thanked the Communications and Information Technology Commission for the opportunity it has given Mobily to fulfil its national duty, and to achieve the country’s overall orientation by having communications services reach all the Kingdom’s residents.
He also praised the board’s admirable cooperation and keenness to complete the project on time.
Al-Nasser said Mobily operates according to a clear vision, which states distributing the most advanced telecom networks in the world in all of the Kingdom’s regions.
Al-Nasser then thanked all involved parties in the project for their outstanding efforts.
He praised their pleasant determination, which was one of the many motives that contributed to the completion of the project on time.
