Rose ‘carpet’ a major attraction at Janadriyah

A huge carpet like sheet made of roses is a major attraction at the entrance to the Bait Al-Taif, which is part of Makkah Province’s pavilions in the national festival. The piece prepared by the Taif Municipality was made of 6,000 roses of different colors. Taif region is famous for its roses.
The pavilion of the Ministry of Health undertakes services such as receiving blood donations from visitors, tests for osteoporosis and eyesight, clinics for the obese and tests for smoke addicts. It also organizes daily competitions and distribution of gifts and prizes. The ministry also conducts awareness campaigns on various diseases, including bad habits that lead to cancer.
Baha’s heritage village at the festival presents various folk art performances including Ardha dance and other forms of dances and music of the ancient times. Its troupe has 30 dancers and 15 poets. Baha pavilion was named as the best pavilion in the festival last year.
The Ministry of Social Affairs distributes flyers and booklets on various services offered by it. Its pavilion displays the handicraft work of 40 workers in addition to 125 productive families. The ministry’s departments for family care, social development and social insurance are also participating in the event.
People from different parts of the Kingdom are flocking to the Janadiryah grounds in huge numbers. On Saturday alone the festival received 550,000 visitors, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
