Mansour Al-Nuzha, president of Taiba University, congratulated the students who won prizes during the preparatory function. “We are always happy to see our students taking part in various national and international events,” the president said.
He hoped Taiba students would bag a number of prizes in the Alkhobar event. He also pointed out that the winners were picked on merit.
“Our objective is that Taiba students present the best scientific projects at the forum,” he added. The 65 were selected from 184 students who presented their projects during the preparatory function.
Basma Jestinia, dean of university studies in the girls section, commended the boys and girls who qualified to attend the scientific forum, which aims to develop the skills of young Saudi men and women.
“Taiba University has made all preparations to make the Alkhobar event a big success by encouraging our students to present their best scientific work and projects,” she said. She thanked Al-Nuzha for his encouragement for students.
Suleiman Al-Kharboush, coordinator of the university for the forum, said the participating projects are related to different topics. In the human and social sciences category, 13 winning projects were selected. Among them, 10 belonged to Master’s degree students and three to bachelor’s degree students.
In the basic science and engineering area 23 projects were selected, including 15 belonging to postgraduate students and eight belonging to undergraduate students. In the health science category nine projects have been selected. In addition, 17 girl students have been allowed to participate for contributing to the projects.
“The participation of 65 projects is not final as these projects will be screened further by a scientific committee of the Higher Education Ministry,” Al-Kharboush said. He thanked all committees for making the preparatory forum a success.
