During the last 15 minutes, the Asian team of the century was leading but just in the nick of time, they gave Gharafah a chance to get a draw. What a disappointment for the fans who went beyond the borders to show their support. No one can deny that the players are very gifted but there is a reason why this is called a team sport. No player, no matter how gifted can make a win by himself. And it is tough for a team to win when one or more players is playing for self glory. Whatever happened to teamwork?
Al-Ahli, on the other hand, is very obvious that their focus is Saudi league and leaves nothing for the Asian Champions League. They keep running after Al-Shabab and wants the league title regardless of what the consequences would be, no matter if they lose in the Asian Champions League and leave the tournament early. They lost their first match in Asia over a weak Qatari team Lakhwya. Last Wednesday, in Jeddah they hardly got a draw from Sabahan from Iran via a penalty kick. I thought Ahli is one of the best two teams this season, I wonder why can’t they show that to Asia?
Finally, Al-Ittifaq who plays in the Asian Federation Cup. The team had a good 5-1 victory in their first match but they couldn't win against Alahd from Lebanon and had a goalless draw. Ittifaq had a very big drop in their play since they lost the Crown Prince Cup final to Hilal. They played 5 matches and only won one. This means that the team needs to sort out whatever issues they are going through. We saw that they are capable but instead of improving, they are retrogressing. Wake up,people! We could really use some win!
Disappointing teams
