Egyptian by heart, mind and soul, their creativity transcends borders and lies with their passion of music. Celebrated members of the trance family around the world, these young stars are the brave storm of conviction who have given the world a new dimension with their sound. Born in 1981, the duo not only share the same taste in music or their birth year, but they also happen to be friends since childhood. The friendship soon turned to be a bond between the maestros who loved nothing more but their pride and love for music and started deejaying in 1999.
From the shores of the Nile, they spread out their music in waves across the world, and the world took notice. Their first release, "Eye of Horus," received massive appreciation globally and was played by great music producers like Armin van Buuren, Paul Van Dyk and Tiësto. Aly & Fila have collaborated with the hottest names in the trance music industry, such as Roger Shah and Ferry Corsten in their latest tracks. The trance-setters also host an Internet radio show every Monday called “Future Sound of Egypt.”
They have been voted among the top 100 DJs on DJ Mag three times already and there is still so much more to come.
Talking to Saudi Arabia for the first time, we bring you an exclusive with the guys behind all the magic.

Fila used to travel to Europe and saw Paul van Dyk. He used to bring back mix tapes of his from there. This totally inspired us to make music. We always believed that if we worked hard, we could make an impact. We sent music to record labels and had our first release in 2003, “Eye of Horus.”

We were so proud to receive this accolade — huge thanks to everyone who supported and voted for the track.

We of course had to adapt. We had deadlines, flights and hotels and were away from home for periods of time, but we are very proud and privileged to do what we do.

We are very proud to be in this position. Of course when we first started, it was very rare for Egyptian artists to be making waves in the dance music industry. Promoters were not used to booking flights from Egypt, as it is normally from the UK or Holland, but gradually, we grew and entered the DJ Mag Top 100 etc. and our music helped with the process.

Aly & Fila meet Roger Shah, “Perfect Love.”

It gives us the chance to do what we love as a career: Making music, deejaying and, of course, meeting so many amazing people around the world.

To continue what we are doing, maybe have more live shows as “Future Sound of Egypt,” but music wise, we will always stick to what we believe in.

Everyone has their own impact in all genres of electronic music. Different artists inspire people in different ways.

There are some countries that we have not visited yet such as Bulgaria, Moldova, Panama, Honduras, Uruguay and some cities in Russia and in the US, etc. We hope we can see them.

Friends, family and loved ones, and also fans. They are our rocks.

Aly & Fila are currently working on remixes, as well as their next artist album, which is due for release around September. They promise to “control the sunlight” this decade.
