The ministry’s official spokesman Hattab Al-Anazi said the Nitaqat would depend on the moving average of Saudized jobs in a firm for a fixed period of 13 weeks. This will be calculated effective from Feb. 23, 2012.
“In the first week the rate of Saudization is calculated as usual after the newly employed Saudi’s registration with GOSI, but starting from the second week it is calculated considering the average for the first and second weeks,” Al-Anazi said.
“The moving average from the first week to the 13th week will be calculated. Later on the moving average of the 13th week will be calculated, regardless of the first week’s results,” he pointed out.
According to this mechanism, a new Saudi employee will be considered only one-third of an employee after a month, two-thirds of an employee after two months, a full employee after three months, the spokesman said.
Al-Anazi said the new mechanism was introduced to ensure actual employment of Saudis and their continuation in the firm as well as their job stability. “It will also help stabilize the rate of Saudization and avoid fluctuations in Saudization rates,” he added.
