This will mark the University of Malta’s first official presence in Riyadh and was made possible following an invitation extended by the Ministry of Higher Education of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The University of Malta’s participation at the event is also being sponsored by the same ministry and facilitated by the Embassy of Malta in Riyadh.
The University of Malta located in the Mediterranean island of Malta, traces its origins to 1592. With over 400 years of history, the university today is home to over 11,000 students, including 800 international students from 70 different countries.
International students blend in with local students on a campus where interaction is chiefly in English given the island’s bilingual English/Maltese tradition. Teaching at the University of Malta is conducted exclusively in English except for foreign language courses.
With a vibrant Mediterranean lifestyle, a mild climate, a safe, tolerant environment and excellent air and sea connections, Malta is considered one of the best English-speaking destinations in Europe where quality of service is key.
Offering a vast range of programs at undergraduate and postgraduate level, the University of Malta constantly endeavors to ensure it is on par with local, regional and international requirements.
Investment and the constant upgrade of teaching, research and recreational facilities is a must given the crucial role higher education plays in the advancement of the island’s economy.
Research activity is also at the very heart of the university's vision, to stimulate teaching and to build strong links with business and industry as well as with other academic institutions.
University of Malta representatives will be available to interact with those attending the IECHE event taking place in Riyadh. During the exhibition, the university will also explore possibilities of establishing collaboration links with universities in Saudi Arabia.
The government of Malta and the Ministry of Higher Education in Saudi Arabia are currently also engaged in discussions toward the future inclusion of the University of Malta on the King Abdulah Scholarship Program.
