The goalkeeper, who turned out for Mumbai Marines in the World Series Hockey from Feb. 29-April 2, tested positive for a metabolite of marijuana during tests conducted by the National Anti Doping Agency.
NADA director-general Rahul Bhatnagar said though they did not announced the name of the player, "the information was leaked from some other source" as letters had also been sent out to WSH organizers, national body Hockey India and the FIH.
No provisional suspension has been announced as according to rules, a player can be let off with a warning for using marijuana with a maximum ban of two years.
