Ali Al-Kamali, GM of the Middle East Awards Excellence Institute, said: "The Award presented to Al-Daweesh is in accordance with the standards adopted by the institute in selecting and honoring senior executives who have performed a distinguished role in elevating the development path, knowledge, and regional competency."
Al-Daweesh received the Award in Dubai from Anwar Ibrahim, former deputy prime minister of Malaysia, for his achievements in the progress achieved by the group over the years and for his successful leadership of the group in winning the Third Mobile Accreditation License in Kuwait and Bahrain. He is also credited with facilitating the STC Group services to more than 160 million customer in 11 countries. The revenues of the group reached SR57 billion. He also contributed in making the company one of the biggest organizations in telecommunications sector, and the first in the MENA region.
Al-Daweesh chaired the STC in February 2006, and when the company became a group, he was appointed as the CEO of the STC Group. He holds an engineering degree from the US-based Southern California University. He has over 25 years experience of professional business in telecommunications and management. He currently holds many positions such as chairman of the board of delegates of the Indonesian AXIS company, chairman of AWAL NET, also chairman of Integral, vice chairman of Oger Telecom and board member of Max Company in Malaysia.
