Muhamamd Al-Oud, spokesman of the ministry and director general of the ministry’s public relations and social media department, said that the beneficiaries have started withdrawing cash from their accounts.
He said the agency utilizes the Zakat revenues to distribute social security allowances among various weaker sections of the society. The agency closely studies and monitors details of the men and women beneficiaries of the allowance by making use of advanced IT facilities.
Among the registered beneficiaries, names of 6,367 men and women were excluded because of various reasons that led to their disqualification from the pension scheme. These reasons include death, marriage, increase in earnings, and lack of proof for divorce. The newly added beneficiaries, who are yet to be registered and numbering 542, were also not included in the list of beneficiaries.
According to Al-Oud, there is an increase of 13,252 men and women in the list of beneficiaries who would take advantage of the allowance for the first time from this month onward. They include orphans, widows and kidney patients. He noted that there are 96 social insurance offices and five social service units in various regions of the Kingdom.
