"Saudi Arabia is an important market and has great potential," Jaeger-LeCoultre's Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jerome Lambert told Arab News in an interview at the first Jaeger LeCoultre boutique in the capital's Tahlia street.
"Jaeger-LeCoultre recognizes the vast potential and influence of the Kingdom, fueled by the Saudis' keen appreciation for luxury and fine watchmaking," he added.
He also met "esteemed clientele and watch connoisseurs and enlightened them about Jaeger LeCoultre's diverse selection of watches, especially the pieces making up the exquisite Duometre line.
"Being able to share our expertise with the Saudi watch connoisseurs is a true privilege indeed. Building on our strong heritage encompassing about 400 patents that changed the history of fine watchmaking and inventions that have become absolute references, the Grande Maison remains the reference in high-end watchmaking," said the 42-year-old CEO.
He said that owing to Jaeger-LeCoultre's introduction of the unprecedented Dual-Wing movement, the brand had added a new chapter to watchmaking history with the Duometre line, which boasts of an exceptional amalgamation of technical prowess, elegant designs and a spectacular compilation."
"The principle behind the revolutionary Dual-Wing concept involves two independent mechanisms each with its own source of energy but sharing a common regulation organ," he said.
Another distinctive feature of the Duometre line, he added, is the arrangement of dial displays, which reflects the dual structure of the Dual-Wing concept.
Visibly proud and excited about a particular piece that stands out in this collection, Lambert spoke at length about one of the most unique and magnificent watches, the Duometre Spherotourbillon.
"It's a watch that can legitimately claim to be the first tourbillion watch adjustable to the nearest second, the foundation for the Duometre Spherotourbillon like all other Jaeger-LeCoultre models is precision," he added.
"Flaunting immense features that abound with exactitude, the innovative spirit of the watch merges with a stirring design that has been inspired by vintage pocket-watches and exudes a blend of elegance and refinement," he said.
A brand that has been at the forefront of fine watchmaking ever since its establishment in 1883, Jaeger-LeCoultre enriches its rich legacy through continuous advancements and innovation in its watch designs. Echoing the novelty found in its skills, Jaeger-LeCoultre boutiques in 110 countries all over the globe reflect the soul and spirit of the watch manufacturer and provide the ultimate environment for appreciation of fine watchmaking.
The manufacturer's first boutique in Riyadh was inaugurated in August 2010 with its partner, Platinum Sands, which is credited with bringing numerous other luxury brands to the region.
Platinum Brands is an extension of the luxury watches and jewelry division of the famous local retailer Al Bin Ali Group, which has been a key player in the luxury retail business for over sixty years and continues to strengthen its commitment to style and high-end brand. A sanctuary of lavishness and tranquility in the Saudi capital city, Lambert said, the manufacturer's exquisite jewelry pieces and enduring sports watches, tailored to the needs of the Arabian customer, are showcased against a stunning milieu of bright light and exotic materials.
"A major player in watchmaking since 1883, Jaeger-LeCoultre is the first manufacturer to have been established in the Vallee de Joux in Switzerland," said Lambert who started as the chief financial officer of Jaeger-LeCoultre.
He added that it played a pioneering role by uniting the full range on technical and artistic professions under one roof and made an indelible imprint in watchmaking in the entire region.
"The watch manufacturer has an impressive range of firsts in the world, superlative creations and legendary models to its credit, including the Reverso, the Duoplan, the Master Control, the Memovox Polaris, the Gyrotourbillon, and the Atmos," Lambert said.
Guided by time-honored know-how and a constant quest for technical enhancements, Jaeger-LeCoultre's master watchmakers, engineers, and technicians craft each watch in harmony with enduring passion.
"Each masterpiece, heir to 179 years of expertise, benefits from cutting-edge technologies while being crafted in harmony with the noblest traditions of the Vallee de Joux. Building on a vast heritage encompassing 1,231 calibers and 398 registered patents, Jaeger-LeCoultre remains the reference in high-end watchmaking," Lambert said.
