The countdown will start 44 days before the launch of the festival, which is expected to start from July 17 for 35 days, attracting around 2 million visitors from around the Kingdom and abroad and will generate an income of over SR5 billion.
The summer event will feature more than 200 activities include cultural, social, sports and entertainment events to enhance domestic and international tourism.
Ahmed Sayed Al-Ghamdi, the president of summer festival media center, said this countdown would remind organizers to intensify preparations. All contracts with co-sponsors before the launch of the festival have been finalized.
He added the summer festival has a prominent place in the agenda of tourism festivals in the region under the supervision of Prince Mishal bin Majed, governor of Jeddah and chairman of the Tourist Development Council.
His aim is to maintain both large and small related events and overcome all obstacles in order to achieve the overall goals of the festival.
The festival was launched 14 years ago and is known for its varied entertainment, recreation and shopping attractions. It takes place under the patronage of Makkah Gov. Prince Khaled Al-Faisal.
