Dania Khafaji, founder of ‘Spa To Go’, arranged a special bath for brides that gives them a clean and tanned appearance. “Many brides like to look tanned, which leads them to go to the beach and lay down for hours to look bronze, but this will only cause them to peel by the wedding day. Others go to the salon and get a spray tan which leaves the possibility of it rubbing off on their wedding dress,” she said. “I have created a special bath for those who want to keep their tan and make their skin smooth, and it does not peel off, fade or disperse on their wedding dress,” she added.
Khafaji explains how this unique bath works. “First, the bather takes the bride-to-be to the shower and washes her body to get rid of the basic dirt on the skin and in her hair,” she said. “Using a towel, the bather dries off the bride’s body and starts applying some of the white scrub to remove dead cells to help exfoliate the skin and make it softer. Then she washes her body with warm water,” she added.
The trick in this bath lies in the products used for it, according to Khafaji. “We use a special mixture that is flown in especially for Spa To Go from Morocco,” she said. The mixture contains Aker Farsi, which is a natural herb that helps dye the skin in red or bronze and is used in tanning, as well as other Moroccan herbs that help smoothen and rejuvenate the skin. “We apply the Aker mixture on the whole body and take the bride-to-be to the steam room for 15 minutes,” she added.
“The heat of the steam allows pores to open wide and lets the body sweat out, while absorbing the mixture well into the skin,” said Khafaji.
After washing the body with warm water, the bather rubs the body with natural Moroccan black soap made with olive oil and Aker. “This soap cleanses the body and ensures that the glow and bronze color is even on the body,” said Khafaji. “After washing the body with warm water, the bather dries the customer with a warm towel and the final step is to use the self-tan airbrush on her whole body, which gives the perfect color on her freshly peeled skin,” she added.
The tanned color will stay for a week and will not stain the wedding dress. “I guarantee that after this bath, the customer’s body will not stain her clothes whatsoever.
