Oman Air has appointed Mahfood Ali Saleem Al-Harthy to the new position of chief officer, Sales. Based at Oman Air’s headquarters in Muscat, Al-Harthy will report to chief operating officer Abdulrahman Al-Busaidy.
Mahfood Al-Harthy, an Omani citizen, joins Oman Air from Etihad Airways, where he held the position of general manager – Oman, prior to which he was managing director of AFKAR Enterprises & Investment Co. for three years.
Al-Harthy’s airline experience is extensive and he spent 18 years, between 1991 and 2009, working in a range of senior sales and managerial roles around the world for Gulf Air.
Welcoming Mahfood Al-Harthy, Oman Air’s chief operating officer, Abdulrahman Al-Busaidy said: “We are very pleased to have appointed Mahfood Al-Harthy to the position of chief officer sales, where he will have responsibility for overseeing a vital part of our global commercial activity. As Oman Air prepares to enter a tremendous new period of rapid growth, Mahfood’s undoubted experience and expertise will play a key part in building our revenues.
