The Ministry of Education recently announced the rules and regulations for working in teaching positions outside the Kingdom, which exclude single men and people who have been in prison. The ministry called on education directorates to refer its nominations of employees for the general school administration in Saudi Arabia no later than Nov. 20. Sources from the ministry confirmed that they will not look into any cases after this date.
Deputy Minister for Boys' Affairs Hamad Al Alsheikh, who issued the circular, said candidates for external posts should hold educational jobs and a minimum of 95 points, and should be between 30 and 50 years of age, having spent six years as a teacher (10 years for educational supervisors).
Possible candidates, including school principles or supervisors, should be married and have clean police records and not have failed to complete an external post before. The ministry will choose the highest points in the written test if all candidates have obtained equal marks.
