Mobily’s chief audit executive officer gets UAE IAA award

Abdullah A. Alrowais, chief audit executive officer at Mobily, board member of the Saudi Institute of Internal Auditors (IAA) and chief of the institute’s executive committee, has been honored with the UAE Internal Audit Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award 2016, for his achievements in the development of the internal auditing profession in the Kingdom and also across the region.
Alrowais took part in many initiatives to develop the internal audit profession and promote awareness of its strategic and proactive role to improve and develop the culture of corporate governance and encounter potential risks, monitoring and improving performance in the organizations.
He also took part as a speaker in several regional and global conferences to share knowledge on various topics related to corporate governance, risk management and internal audit, and fighting corruption and fraud.
The honoring came on the sidelines the 17th Annual Regional Audit Conference which was held recently in Dubai.
Alrowais participated as one of the keynote speakers in the conference and reviewed the important role of internal auditing to enhance the corporate governance systems and performance audit.
The annual regional audit conference is considered the largest event of its kind in the region, where it discusses the latest trends concerning the internal auditing profession. It is considered an important opportunity to exchange views and experiences, and to receive the latest and best training.
