MADINAH: Each year during Haj and Umrah seasons, their images show up and their presence is felt with pride by Saudis and people heading for the holy places.
Sacrifices reflect an important aspect of their work, which are based on the strength and deterrence, care and regulation.
The Saudi Special Emergency Forces, one of the law enforcement agencies, which works as part of the Ministry of Interior, has had a major role in thwarting many terrorist plots.
Members have taken it upon themselves to be first in confronting those who have deviant thoughts, and It has had a significant impact, where members gave their lives to save the homeland.
Today, the Special Emergency Forces are 50 years old, getting stronger every year against enemies, keeping the peace since they took the responsibility of organizing in the holy places during the religious season. The forces became the builder of the walls of security protection against extremist organizations, with numerous martyrs sacrificing for the benefit of the country.
Last year, the Saudi Special Emergency Forces were ranked among the top 10 forces in the fight against terrorism in the world by the FDFA organization for anti-terrorism and Swiss security development.
The group believes in hard and continuous training, setting up hypothetical scenarios to counter terrorism individually and in groups, in harmony with developing from what has been learned from terrorist crimes in the past. The members of the forces are always ready to stop terrorist organizations in their tracks.
The Special Emergency Forces often focus on sophisticated ways, according to a security philosophy, that puts them in a position to follow up with special and rapid operations. They might sometimes be less than successful, but achieve their goal without losing lives, confirming readiness for any threat that could be experienced by any of the facilities and centers in the country.
The Special Emergency Forces have earned global admiration for their power to defeat groups and centers of terrorism through successive and ongoing operations by using a variety of applications in the field of protection and the fight against terrorism. They have also scored hight in the elimination of all forms of attempts to threaten stability.
The Special Emergency Forces are assigned each year, during the pilgrimage season, to organize crowd movement at the Jamarat Bridge, in addition to other preventive tasks, and participate with government agencies in effectively serving pilgrims in all the holy sites in Makkah and Madinah.
