TAIF: Another incident of cars being set on fire occurred Saturday at dawn when 12 cars were burned, after a previous incident where 21 cars were burned Friday at dawn in a nearby location.
Civil Defense turned over the investigation to the police received to identify who is behind these fires.
Speaking to a local publication, Civil Defense Spokesman in Taif Col. Nasser Al-Sharif said: “Around 3:25 on Saturday morning, 12 vehicles were set on fire. The vehicles were parked in a vacant lot in the industrial area in Houaya. Eight of the vehicles were with plate numbers, and the four others without. All vehicles suffered different damages.” He added that the fire was contained before it could reach workshops in the area, and no injuries were recorded.
“The fire site was turned over to the competent body to identify the causes of the fire, especially since this is the second time a fire involving a large number of cars broke near the same location. The first incident involved 21 cars.”
He pointed out that in the first fire that broke out, 17 cars were with plate numbers, and all cars were completely burned.
