RIYADH: Nazaha (National Anti-Corruption Commission) is investigating the case of a Transport Ministry official in Najran for granting SR14 million compensation to his relatives.
It said the official is suspected being involved in a number of administrative and financial irregularities as well as abuse of power in a land expropriation case.
According to Nazaha spokesman Abdulrahman Al-Ajlan, the underhand dealings resulted in illegal compensation of over SR2 million. His relatives also received compensation of over SR12 million in the construction of King Abdullah Road and Prince Meshael bin Saud Road in Najran.
Al-Ajlan said Nazaha has referred his case to the Bureau of Investigation and Prosecution.
A committee comprising several government departments was formed to investigate irregularities in the inventory of the property of a citizen along the King Abdullah Road in Najran.
