Get ready for 48°C

RIYADH: The eastern and northeastern parts of the Kingdom, some areas of southern Iraq, and Kuwait are expected to witness a scorching heat wave, according to the Met Office.
The northeastern and the central parts of the Kingdom will also witness the same weather conditions on Wednesday and the upcoming days.
Temperatures will range between 46° to 48° Celsius in the eastern parts of the Kingdom, while they will hit over 50°C in Kuwait, southern parts of Iraq and northeastern parts of the Kingdom.
The wave is expected to begin Tuesday from Kuwait, then on Wednesday it will gradually move into northeastern parts of the Kingdom.
Thursday and Friday will be the two hottest days, where temperatures are expected to exceed 52°C in some parts of Kuwait and Iraq.
Wider areas in the central parts of the Kingdom will be hit hard where temperatures may exceed their average annual levels to 48°C. These areas include Riyadh, Qassim, and parts of Makkah, and Madinah.
