MADINAH: The Investigation and Criminal Research Unit at Al-Ola Provincial Police Department has arrested two Saudis for forming a theft gang moving between Tabuk, Al-Ola and Khaibar, according to the media spokesman of Madinah Police Brig. Gen. Fahad bin Amir Al-Ghannam.
The two were arrested on Wednesday night in Al-Ola Province following reports about an attempted robbery of an automated teller machine (ATM) in the province, in addition to other theft reports from a pharmacy and three mobile sales shops.
The two Saudis in their thirties admitted they had attempted to rob eight ATMs, three in Tabuk Region and four in Al-Ola Province, the spokesman said.
At the time of the eighth incident, which occurred in Khaibar, the culprits tried to uproot the ATM from its location but failed, he said.
The culprits were subsequently referred to the Bureau of Investigation and Public Prosecution (BIPP) for further investigation.
