JEDDAH: The malicious attempts to blame Saudi Arabia of involvement in the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11 were defeated, and the size of the storm clearly showed the extent of the animosity held by some toward the Kingdom.

Some Arab diplomats believe that the diplomacy led by Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, second deputy premier and minister of defense, foiled the false accusations against Saudi Arabia.
They noted in statements to a local publication that disclosing the secret pages in the report of the American Congress on the events of Sept. 11, proved the integrity and honesty of Saudi Arabia and the lies of some in American decision-making circles.
Palestine’s former permanent representative at the Arab League, Dr. Barakat Al-Farra, said Saudi Arabia succeeded in painting the country’s policies with some special characteristics in just a short period of time.
“These policies reflect the size of Saudi influence at all levels to firmly stand against any issues that might touch on its interests,” he added.
Sudan’s Ambassador to Egypt and its Permanent Representative to the Arab League Ambassador Abdul Mahmoud Abdul Halim believed that thwarting the attempts to involve Saudi Arabia in the attacks of Sept. 11 proved the influence of Saudi diplomacy, and the wise policy and actions of Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
The former assistant secretary-general of the League of Arab States, Ambassador Said Kamal, said the decisiveness in dealing with important issues is ascribed to the style exerted by Prince Mohammed bin Salman to add to the politics of the Kingdom.
Former Egyptian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Sayed Qasem said the success of Saudi diplomacy is the result of Saudi Arabia’s political experience and the credibility adopted by the country over the past decades.
Ambassador Ahmed Abul Khair, Egypt’s former assistant foreign minister, said acquitting Saudi Arabia of the accusations of the Sept. 11 attacks represents a strong blow to the hired voices which unjustly and falsely accused the Kingdom of involvement in the attacks.
