RIYADH: More than 15,000 male and female students will take part in the summer camps organized by the Ministry of Labor and Social Development here.
The program, sponsored by Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF), has invited applications online to participate in the summer camps held in all parts of the Kingdom.
Talal Al-Ajlan, deputy director
general of empowerment and creativity in HRDF, said that out of the 15,886 applicants received by the ministry, a total of 5,172 are female students.
“It is a national initiative aimed at training Saudi students on specific career paths according to training programs ending with employment to meet the actual requirements of the labor market.”
He said the purpose of the program is to provide an opportunity for students to spend the summer vacation learning skills and gaining practical experience, which would eventually achieve the Vision 2030 plan of the Kingdom.
The training is divided into two types — the first section is on job training training within the private sector enterprises and the second is getting training from the institutions funded by the private enterprises since they do not have the facilities to train in their workplaces.
The bodies participating in implementation of the program include the Ministry of Labor and Social Development, Technical and Vocational Training Corporation, HRDF and the Saudi Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
