JEDDAH: The Saudi Telecom Company (STC) has finished its training program for the nationalisation of the workforce in the sale and maintenance of mobile phones and its affiliated sectors.
More than 33,000 training hours were offered to support young Saudis and to train them to carry out sales and maintenance in the communication sector, according to the memorandum of understanding (MoU) that was signed with the Ministry of Labor and Social Development, which aims to achieve total nationalisation of the sector by the start of Dul Hijjah.
The company offered an eleven-day intensive training program for each trainee. The trainings focused on enhancing presentation skills for sales and introducing basic maintenance skills, as well as ways of looking for customers and keeping them. Other skills included professional sales methods, compensation, encouraging sales employees and training sales directors. The participation of the STC in training young Saudi entrepreneurs in this field comes as part of its corporate responsibility toward citizens and the nation and in order to achieve purposes of the state in training citizens and preparing them for the labor market.
The number of people who applied for the nationalisation program in the communications sector reached 25,000. This shows that many people are interested in working in this sector, and that the social contribution of the company supports the nationalisation of the communications sector.
The STC implemented a number of training programs in various parts of the Kingdom to enable all interested persons to gain access to these trainings.
The agreement for these trainings was signed between the STC and the Ministry of Labor and Social Development on behalf of Mufrej Al-Haqabani, who thanked the STC for its initiative in support of the nationalisation of the communications sector.
