Mitsubishi distributor Alesayi Motors announced recently the conclusion of a dealership agreement with Taiwanese car maker CMC for marketing its family flagship model Z7 in Saudi Arabia starting from 2013.
Under the agreement, Alesayi will be an exclusive dealer for the family car Z7, a 7-seat multipurpose (MPV) car, dedicated to meet the growing need for high quality and spacious cars that are perfect for value-conscious Saudi families.
Bandar Saeed Alesayi, VP, Alesayi Motors, and Kuo Chi Wong, vice chairman, CMC, signed the agreement. Wong was on a visit to Saudi Arabia along with a high-level delegation for signing the deal, as well as to discuss the potential of expanding the relationship between the countries.
Alesayi said: “After an in-depth study of the market, we are sure that a value-orientated roomy car such as this one that will be highly sought-after here. The powertain is supplied by Mitsubishi Motors so we are sure about the quality and strengths of the car and, because of this, we have full parts availability.”
He added: “We have a network of integrated centers in the main cities of Saudi Arabia, including service and spare parts facilities. We shall utilize all of our resources and our vast experience, which goes back to more than 50 years, to ensure the success of this great family car.” CMC, founded in June 1969, signed a technology sharing contract with Mitsubishi Motors the following year. Its production capacity reached more than 100,000 vehicles per year. This was a good indicator of the rapid growth, which has been accompanied by the emergence of Taiwan as an industrial and economic power in the world. CMC is considered as one of the fastest growing car makers in Taiwan.
Wong said: “With high quality manufacturing values, a flexible 7-seat layout and great value for money, I am sure Z7 will be a great success here. We are aware of the fierce competition in the Saudi market, but we have big ambitions and hope to get a fair share of the market volume.”
