Friends are forever. Right?

Two thick friends, Shah Rukh Khan and Farah Khan have had quite a successful association so far. Their movies clicked with the audience — from ‘Main Hu Na’ to ‘Om Shanti Om’ and now ‘Happy New Year’. The old, young and not-so-young — all flocked to see HNY, which even created a record of sorts.

The talented duo, are putting their heads together for a new project. A tabloid reported that this movie will be a small, Rs 50 crore film, and they quoted Farah saying,“I don’t have a script yet, I’m going to enjoy myself for a month or two, then the idea will come to me. It’ll star Shah Rukh. We’ve been discussing it for some time now.”

As Farah takes a break, Badshah Khan is busy with the shooting of his next release ‘Fan’. And, is he getting the feel of being a fan? He sure is, he said, “I want to know how it feels being a fan. Somebody likes me, somebody hates me and some are diehard fans so I want to know how it feels being a fan. Somebody even loves me to the extent of hating me.”

The Badshah is on a high. And, to add to the experience, Pakistani actress Mahira Khan is all set to join Shah Rukh Khan in his upcoming movie ‘ Raees ,’ according to reports. Produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, the film is scheduled to roll in February, 2015. Here, the ‘Humsafar’ star plays the wife of a gangster (Shah Rukh Khan), and the critics’ favorite actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui is a cop, as per the grapevine.

SRK has another film in the kitty, which may be shot later this year, under the guidance of his ‘Chennai Express’ director — Rohit Shetty. And, as per rumor mills, it will be a typical Rohit Shetty film — bigger, better and in fact huger than ‘Happy New Year’. Apparently, talks are on between the director and the star. Watch out for the cameras to roll!

And, then there are friendships that fail the test of time. Take SRK and Karan Johar. The latter has always been very vocal about the fact that he owes it to Shah Rukh Khan and Aditya Chopra for finding a place in the film industry. And, like a true friend, SRK had teamed up with Karan’s Dharma Productions to create many a blockbuster.

But, what has happened to the Karan Johar-SRK bond now? Why didn’t he cast Shah Rukh Khan in his next, ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’, when he finalized his cast — Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Anushka Sharma. Yes, there was news circulating about SRK and KJo’s friendship, which went ‘kaput’, after the super star didn’t turn up for his famous chat show ‘Koffee with Karan’.

The cool vibes were evident at a recent awards function — Stardust Awards night. When King Khan came on the stage to collect his award, he did praise Riteish Deshmukh and KJo for entertaining everyone. What stood out was that he hugged everyone present including Senior Bachchan, but the superstar did not hug Karan, his once-upon-a-time closest friend. We noticed a puzzled KJo, who quietly walked back to join his co-host, Riteish.

We know it takes no mean effort for friendship to get ignited too, sailing over a rough patch, as if nothing had happened. Here’s hoping this dosti is revived too, and happy days are here again!
