EVESHAM TOWNSHIP, N.J.: The southern New Jersey town where Christina Grimmie grew up held a candlelight vigil to honor the singer who was fatally shot after a weekend concert in Florida.
Evesham Township Mayor Randy Brown said the vigil was held at the town’s Memorial Complex.
The 22-year-old Grimmie was shot Friday night as she signed autographs after a show in Orlando.
Authorities say she apparently had no personal connection to the man who shot her. The gunman fatally shot himself after being tackled by her brother.
Grimmie was a YouTube star who was widely known from her appearances on NBC’s “The Voice” two years ago.
Grimmie lived in Evesham, a small community about 20 miles from Philadelphia, before moving to Los Angeles in 2012.
