LOS ANGELES: The first trailer for historical drama “Queen of the Desert” gives a glimpse of the relationship between the characters played by Robert Pattinson and Nicole Kidman.
Pattinson plays T.E. Lawrence better known as Lawrence of Arabia and Kidman portrays Gertrude Bell, an explorer who helped establish the countries of Iraq and Jordan, reported Ace Showbiz.
Also starring James Franco and Damian Lewis, “Queen of the Desert” premiered at Berlin International Film Festival and is expected to hit US theaters later this year.
Released on Saturday, the international trailer for “Queen Of The Desert” shows Robert working to beat the Arabian desert heat in a keffiyeh-style shemagh (headscarf).
Gertrude Bell played a decisive role around 1920 in setting the course for the new political order in the Middle East. She contributed to defining the new borders in the region after the First World War.
