KARACHI: Pakistani supermodel Ayyan Ali, who was released on bail from jail last week in a currency smuggling case, thanked her legal team for facilitating her release, Dawn reports.
“Thanks to all of you who prayed for me,” said a tweet posted on the model’s account.
“Everything that happened was a conspiracy against me and my career,” she said.
After being in the limelight during her detention at Rawalpindi’s Adiala jail and court appearances on charges of currency smuggling, the supermodel made her first public appearance of sorts on Twitter in a selfie with former VJ Waqar Zaka.
“My first selfie after four months. Right after dinner with my friend and the most daring PAKI ever,” said the model.
Ali, who is one of the most recognizable faces in Pakistan’s fashion circuit, was jailed in March when she was caught at Islamabad airport attempting to board a flight to Dubai with $0.5 million.
