DUBAI: US rapper Nicki Minaj caused a stir on Twitter Sunday by offering to pay the tuition fees of 30 lucky fans.
It began when one of her Twitter followers asked the multi-award winning songstress if she would pay his tuition.
Minaj, 34, agreed and then opened up the off-the-cuff competition to her fans with high grades.
“Show me straight A’s that I can verify with your school and I’ll pay it. Who wants to join THAT contest? Dead serious. Should I set it up?” wrote Minaj.
A user wrote, “1k would be more than enough for my 3 summer classes help me Nic @NICKIMINAJ.”
Minaj replied, “That’s it? I’ll send it tomorrow. DM me your bank information babe. Next!”
Thirty fans were lucky enough to catch Minaj’s attention before she closed the competition, saying: “Ok u guys. It’s been fun. Let me make those payments tmrw then see if I have any money left. I’ll do some more in a month or 2.”
